From Dr. Lampert:
Breast Revision Only 5 Weeks Postop: This young lady had breast implants initially placed by another plastic surgeon through peri-areolar incisions. Capsular contracture developed bilaterally (on both sides) pulling the scar and inverting the nipples. This was painful and deforming. The patient also developed a “double bubble” deformity which was best treated with capsulectomy (or capsule removal), implant exchange and a breast lift (or mastopexy). Old implants were exchanged for new implants of the same size and shape. The patient is started on a Leukotriene Inhibitor and early massage protocol, as some studies suggest that this may help decrease the risk of recurrent early capsular contracture. Pink scars should fade with time.
