From Dr. Lampert:
Face & Neck Lift With Facial Fat Grafting: This healthy active male complained of skin laxity and fat atrophy to the face. Here he is 3 months after a "full" face and neck lift with facial fat grafting. Deep muscle (platysma) tightening and fascia suspension was allowed with a "High SMAS" facelift technique. At only 3 months, his scars are still visible along his anterior sideburn, around and inside the verge of the ear canal. The scar also extends along the shadow of his occipital hairline (junction of the back of his head and his neck). On the initial exam, I knew he was a good scar former from a prior scar he had. A longer, well-hidden scar can often heal flatter and less perceivable in patients like this - who are known to scar well. Old fashioned face and neck lifts would create shorter "bunchy" scars which can be more visible. Old fashioned face and neck lifts also relied mostly on the skin to shape, which would cause distortions in the hairline, wide scars, early recurrence, and a windswept unnatural appearance. The contemporary face and neck lift procedures take longer to perform but provide much more natural and aesthetically pleasing results. Each patient is individually assessed for the correct procedure during the initial consultation.
