Dermal Fat Graft Lip Augmentation. Patient now one month post op after Dermal Fat Graft to the upper and lower lips. She has had lip fillers before, and was frustrated with the lack of long term results and frequent re-injecting. A dermal fat graft was harvested from a groin crease and the entire procedure was performed under local anesthesia. Old scars are a great donor site to harvest dermal fat grafts. In a Swedish study Dermal fat grafting was the most efficient, versatile, and reliable method of lip enlargement. Long-term survival of transplanted autologous tissues was confirmed by histologic studies of biopsy specimens. (Plast. Reconstr. Surg. 105: 1173, 2000.)
