Septorhinoplasty (or combined rhinoplasty and septoplasty) can be a powerful procedure to change the aesthetic appearance of the nose. This young lady had an open rhinoplasty. Open procedures often afford the surgeon greater control and potentially decrease revision rates. Open procedures require more dissection and ultimately can create more swelling. Some residual swelling can still be present even up to a year in some patients, as the lymphatic and venous drainage is re-established. There are various different techniques that qualify as a nose job. Every nose is different. The procedure performed should be tailored to the specific anatomy and patients ultimate cosmetic desires.
