From Dr. Lampert:
Traumatic Nasal Injury
This young athletic patient had nasal trauma after being struck by a motorcycle while in the crosswalk. Her injuries included nasal bone fractures, a dislocated and deviated nasal septum, a traumatic tattoo to the nasal dorsum and dislocating injury to her nasal cartilages. I used an open approach to reduce her displaced nasal bones and nasal cartilages. I performed a septoplasty at the same time to straighten the septum and improve airflow. Months later I excised and revised the traumatic tattoo on the nasal dorsum. This was done in a delayed fashion in order to avoid vascular embarrassment to the nasal skin envelope.
