From Dr. Lampert:
This brave 70 year old survived strep necrotizing flesh-eating disease. Surgeons saved his life by amputating infected fingers and cutting dead tissue and skin from his arm. The photo on the left is when I first met him. I debrided all wounds and covered exposed bone, joint, and tendon of the hand with a Superficial Circumflex Iliac Perforator Flap from the groin. Circumferential skin graft split thickness was used to cover the forearm and brachium. Later I performed some liposuction to thin it out. When I first met him they were considering amputation now he's back at work and playing tennis!
